I am a husband, father, progressive Christian, Presbyterian pastor, youth minister, theologian, biblical scholar, pop culture junkie, and political dilettante. This blog is an archive of my musings on life and my calling as a religious leader.
I live in Chicago with my wife and son. I’m still somewhat surprised that I’ve been in this city for twelve years, by far the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. I’ve also surprised myself by becoming a ten year youth ministry veteran. Though I consider myself a pastor for all ages, my focus at Fourth Presbyterian Church is youth ministry, which has definitely become a theological and pastoral passion. My other primary focus at Fourth Church is our afternoon jazz worship service, a less formal alternative to our traditional morning worship services. I am also pursuing a doctorate (DMin) at McCormick Theological Seminary, focusing my work in youth ministry.
I am available for speaking and preaching engagements.
