About

I am a husband, father, progressive Christian, Presbyterian pastor, youth minister, theologian, biblical scholar, pop culture junkie, and political dilettante.  This blog is an archive of my musings on life and my calling as a religious leader.

I live in Chicago with my wife and son. I’m still somewhat surprised that I’ve been in this city for thirteen years, by far the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. I’ve also surprised myself by becoming an eleven year youth ministry veteran. Though I consider myself a pastor for all ages, my focus at Fourth Presbyterian Church is youth ministry, which has definitely become a theological and pastoral passion. I am also pursuing a doctorate (DMin) at McCormick Theological Seminary, focusing my work in youth ministry.

I am available for speaking and preaching engagements.
